Grilled Steak Salad
A cold grilled steak salad makes a lovely summer meal. You can purchase the packaged mixed greens or mix your own.
Serves: 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 13 to 16 minutes

1 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1 1/4 pounds boneless beef top sirloin steak, about 3/4 inches thick
salt, to taste
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
6 cups mixed salad greens
2 medium plum tomatoes, halved lengthwise, then cut crosswise into slices
1/2 cup ranch salad dressing

In a small bowl, mix together the oregano, pepper, and garlic. Press evenly into both sides of the steak.

Prepare a charcoal or gas grill so that the coals are medium hot. Grill the steak, uncovered, for 13 to 16 minutes for medium-rare to medium, turning occasionally.

Season the steak to taste with salt and drizzle with lemon juice. Carve crosswise into thin slices.

In large bowl, toss the salad greens and tomatoes. Top with the dressing and toss to mix. Lay the steak on top of the salad and serve.
