3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup red and green candy-coated chocolate pieces
1/2 cup raisins
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 1/4 cups quick cooking oats
3/4 cup unsalted butter, (to add when you bake the cookies)
1 large egg, (to add when you bake the cookies)
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, (to add when you bake the cookies)

In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

In a one-quart glass jar, layer the ingredients in the following order: the flour mixture, walnuts, 1/2 cup of the mini candy-coated chocolates, oats, the remaining candies, raisins and brown sugar. After each layer is put in the jar, pack down well. When the jar is full, put on the lid. Attach the baking instructions to the jar.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease cookie sheets.

In a large bowl, cream together 3/4 cup of butter, 1 large egg, and 3/4 teaspoon of vanilla until light and fluffy.

Stir in the contents of the jar until well blended.

Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them about 2 inches apart on the prepared cookie sheets.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the cookies look set and have started to brown around the edges.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
