Caramel-Pear Crisp
This dessert is a hit with everyone. Pears are at their best in the late fall and early winter and so this is very much a seasonal, holiday treat.

3/4 cup granola cereal, coarsely crushed
1/4 cups crushed gingersnap cookies
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
6 or 7 medium pears
1/3 cup bottled caramel or butterscotch ice cream topping
Vanila ice cream, frozen yogurt or whipped cream, optional

Preheat oven to 350º F.
In a Thatsa™ Bowl Jr. or another mixing bowl, combine the granola, gingersnaps and butter; set aside.

Peel, core and slice the pears.

In a 2-quart square baking dish, arrange pears in an even layer. Drizzle the caramel topping over the fruit. Sprinkle with the gingersnap mixture and bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the fruit is fork tender. Cool the crisp on a wire rack for 20 to 30 minutes.

To serve, spoon into dessert dishes and top, if desired, with ice cream.
