SPRINKLE the nuts evenly in a well-greased 13-by-9-inch baking pan.
MELT the butter in a medium, heavy-duty saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the sugar and bring to a boil. Cook at a boil, stirring constantly for 7 minutes. Pour the hot syrup over the nuts and let stand for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with the morsels and let stand for 5 minutes or until morsels are shiny and soft; spread evenly.
CHILL for about 20 minutes. Break into bite-size pieces.
