Old-Fashioned Hot Mulled Cider
Nothing evokes sentimental feelings for home and the holidays like the spicy aroma of hot mulled cider. Keep some brewing on the stove during weekends to warm up drop-in guests or cold-fingered children.

Cook Time: 10 minutes


1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 gallon apple cider
1 apple, studded with whole cloves

In large saucepan, add sugar and spices to apple cider. Float clove-studded apple in cider mixture. Heat to boiling, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve in mugs garnished with orange slices.
